“Gardens in the dark” is a meditation on memory and the grandeur of the natural world, a reflection of the spirit of our time with the participation of 12 musicians, among others Alex Popov and Tanja Korotkova (Sunset Wings), Andrei Torkunov and Maria Torkunova (Sever Ga) to produce a dark folk album where spare but richly-appointed arrangements combine subtle layers of guitars, piano, strings, woodwinds and voices into soundscapes that evoke understated grace of the natural mystic. The album was mostly composed and recorded in a hilly area in the northern Italy during the precious tranquillity of weekends over the course of three years, while the strings and woodwinds instruments were recorded in Königsberg and in Tyumen (Siberia).

Excellent medieval folk, IGR, & those with ears to hear. I love the sense of mysticism and deep, introspective ponder this album conveys, & the honest down-to-earth folky lyrics. Simply wonderful yet soulfully rich. Highlights for me are tracks 2, 5, 6, & 12.
